Biography
As a native of a very flat Illinois, my fascination with mountains and oceans is understandable. I have been in California for many years now and love of the countryside and ocean seem s to grow by the day. I get excited by the roar of the water and the colors of the rocks.
After spending many years teaching on the secondary school level, I retired from that occupation and now my love of teaching art led to a part time job of teaching adult school.
Whatever excites my eye will become a subject of a painting. I use watercolors and mixed media, whatever seems appropriate to get the feelings across on the paper and to the eye of the beholder. I enjoy blending the colors and creating the motion that we see. Everything is transitory and what we see today in a certain light will assume different perspectives in a new brighter or duller light. Our own moods also color the views that we see.
My paintings are the emotions I feel expressed with color and texture.
